Before Or After Convert?

Was it only until after you saw Massive Attack live did you become a major fan of them?

I've heard different answers from many people both on the net and in person telling me how it was only after seeing them live that they truly became fans. I suppose it happens for alot of bands.
For me I was big fan about 3 years before finally seeing them live at the Brixton Academy in 2003. Put it all down to listening to Mezzanine.

When was your first time seeing Massive live anyways?

well, being here in the US and their lack of touring here for aaaages i was a fan before BUT become full on avid after i saw them for the first time (and i didn't think i could get any crazier abt MA) the first time i saw em live? London Wireless O2 baby! a bit overwhelming as it was also my first trip overseas. but i'd happily be overwhelmed like that any day

It was only after the MA March 2003 Brisbane performance that I became a huge fan of MA, and for good reason too, which you will no doubt find out before the year is over.

Hint - The Veronicas

Interested to know how The Veronicas fit into that

I was introduced to MA by a then girlfriend-of-sorts in 1999, although i'd heard them before without knowing who they were. Fell for them straight away beginning with Blue Lines and then Protection, Mezzanine, 100th Window and then the box set.

The live show in Sydney March 2003 (saw them just before you Jon ) only confirmed what i knew all along.

I'll see if i can find my ticket stub and take a pic with my phone to post up.

Nah, was already a big fan before I saw them live for the first time in 2006. Was a bit worried whether they'd manage to pull it off live (even though I had heard several dashing live recordings). Thank God they were brilliant

I saw them on 1998.09.18 at Clutch Cargo's, Pontiac, MI, USA for the first time. There were maybe a couple hundred people there tops, and I was right in front of the stage, 10 feet from the band. It was incredible to say the least. I really got into them with Mezzanine, and have been hooked ever since. I got to see them twice in 2006 (Coachella and Dallas) and cannot wait for the next tour!

back to past...1991.: i'm into alternative guitar based music (note: what was considered alternative music at that time!) but there are some nice sounds coming from radio and there some quite interesting videos on tv but nothing happens (even though interest in electronic music is starting to grow, but not only because of ma)...1996.: guitars became boring...i need something different...there is that song coming from the radio and video was something great (well i'm talking about protection)...so, after hearing it after waking up one saturday i just went to cd shop and bought cd...after that i plunged into the wonderful world of electronic music...1998.: mezzanine came out...at first i didn't know what to think but slowly things felt into their places...and then i saw them live for the first time (in graz, austria)...i didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best gigs i ever attended... after that i saw them in budapest in 1999. (with out mushroom) and in zagreb in 2003....to put it shortly, i was a fan for about 2 years before seeing them live...

Before the concerts, discoved on TV…Remember I was sitting on my couch and suddenly “Unfinished Sympathy” appears on TV…don’t remember the channel …maybe mtv..I know after that I went to the cd shop. The problem was I didn’t catch the name of the band even not the title of the song, so I was looking first all the cd’s covers searching for a picture about this lady (Shara). Couldn’t find and asked the guy there…What I remember, I asked him “Who the fuck are these 3 students here ? Are you sure you give me the right CD ???”

Didn’t collected the tickets of all the concerts…Kept just this one

and Paris. Montreux french 3d's ticket :

I just regret that I missed the tour in 2003...
