29th August 2006 - La Cigalle, Paris, France
Arrived in the room with full with questions, remaining about a disappointment (Zenith, turned 1998 of Mezzanine), on a 100th good Window, but not on the level of the other albums. But a also little hope… It is the Cicada. It is small. Am well placed in front of the scene. People sat by ground before the arrival of the group. They is cool. Much English. One can drink a beer without being hustled. And then there will be can be… “Lui” or “It” on scene… And then it is Massive Attack! But uncertainty was of short duration. Quickly reassured, quickly convinced! Two batteries, a large well saturated guitar a low door and… Elisabeth Frazer (IEA! A myth… qui has a little viellit since Cocteau Twins, the image of the singer to the Labour market in October 1986 in Lyon is modified a little, but the voice remains the same one, a little difficlie with launching but once left…!!), then Horace Andy always so cool and Zen, then a black singer of which I do not find any more the name. 3 D are with the levers in jacket of captain of the navy, and Daddy G seems to have fun. The sound is very good, the orchestrations of the excellent songs. Always finishing in power, with research of sounds always such magic. Nothing to see, not nothing to see with the heavy industry of Zenith. The intimacy of the room succeeds with the music of Massive Attack. Ah if… only one bitterness… Daddy G almost became a guest rather than a member (present on scene only on its duets with 3d). It is guessed that 3d controlling the machine Massive Attack, wants to keep the wheel of the rock’n'roll and dark environments of the last albums. While the phantôme of Mushroom still planes on certain songs… but it moves away little by little!
