1 Comment Massive Attack Invites You To Battle Box In Bristol November 21, 2012 Announced a few hours ago courtesy of Massive’s Facebook, we now have “Battle Box” to look forward to. What is “Battle Box”? Well, it seems to read to me as nearly a “mini-Meltdown” festival that 3D is putting together, with the ultimate aim is to “reengage with Bristol”, using the avenues of music, art and politics, all within the rather unique environment of the Old Crown Court and adjoining abandoned prison cells. 1 Comment
2 Comments Blue Lines Gets Remastered. Out 19th November! September 11, 2012 Just saying, but it might have made more sense releasing this last year, what with it being the then 20th anniversary, but rather belatedly or not, Blue Lines will be getting released this 19th November in remastered guise. 2 Comments
Comment X Marks The Spot For New Massive Attack Remix Featuring Martina Topley-Bird And Mark Lanegan September 5, 2012 Much like the recent Nas track, we have yet another remix by Massive Attack seemingly out of nowhere onto Soundcloud and with not an awful lot of info concerning it (frustratingly). This time out its what appears to be a cover of The XX track “Crystalised†from their 2009 self-titled album. Their new album, coincidentally (or not) is out next week. Comment
Comment Neil Davidge Soundtrack For Halo 4 Out This October August 23, 2012 I’m a bit late to the game here (pun intended), as by now its been reported by just about every major gaming publication on the planet but, the final tracklisting and release date for the Halo 4 soundtrack was announced yesterday. 1 Comment Massive Motivation For Olympic Gold Medalist August 8, 2012 You may have heard of this little sporting event going on at the minute called the Olympics. I’m sure any Londoner would be able to fill you in on the whole thing, but I have heard one small story from it, that I thought would be nice to share with other Massive Attack fans. 1 Comment
1 Comment Nas Vs. Massive Attack June 25, 2012 While waiting for the new Tricky/MA collaboration to leak, we have something unexpected but decidedly welcome to tide us over until then. What we have is a new remix of “The Don” by Massive Attack in its current incarnation (that being 3D and Tim Goldsworthy), of the upcoming single from the rapper known as Nas. It got its first play on the Annie Mac show on BBC Radio 1 last Friday with little notice, but that is about to change now that the Massive Attack Facebook page has posted the link to it on Soundcloud. 1 Comment
2 Comments Massive Attack & Tricky Reunite June 15, 2012 Well it actually appears as if the prodigal son is actually returning to the Massive fold after all. Posted earlier today on the Massive Attack Facebook by 3D was a picture of Tricky in his studio in Paris. This reunion has been coming it seems for quite awhile and its nice to have some sort of photographic evidence, its really happening. 2 Comments
1 Comment Massive Attack Producer Neil Davidge Announced As Halo 4 Composer April 12, 2012 News broke yesterday morning, via HaloWaypoint, that Neil Davidge is scoring the next installment in the Halo series of video games. Not altogether unexpected, as he composed the music featured in the teaser trailer for Halo 4 that came out last summer. 1 Comment
Comment New Massive Attack Track “Summertime” With Scarlett Johansson Out Now April 10, 2012 Well first off, two things. One, the new Massive Attack track “Summertime” featuring Scarlett Johansson (needs no introduction) is out digitally from Amazon.com and Itunes as of today on the soundtrack for the Mexican thriller, “Days Of Grace”. Secondly, it is’nt really what you might think i.e. a collaboration. Comment
Comment New Mark Stewart Album Out Today Featuring Daddy G March 26, 2012 Out today is the new Mark Stewart album, “The Politics Of Envy”. That’s great and all, but why am I blogging about it. Well, apart from being Mark’s first album since 2008’s Edit (which was a great return to form for him) it also has on one track, a collaboration between himself and Massive’s Daddy G. The track’s called “Apocalypse Hotel” and you can hear a preview of it (and all the other tracks on the album from 7Digital or ITunes. Outside the online samples, I have yet to hear the album, but will probably be picking it up in a few weeks and will offer my opinion of the G track then. Comment
