14th July 2003 - Lycavitos Hill, Athens, Greece
Dot played her 5 songs set and then after a 45 [!!!] min stop the MA gig started with future proof and the screen playing info in Greek language. The songs was in the order one by 3D one by Daddy G one by Horace, etc and dot came in as well pretty early [the third song was it]. The sound was good and not very loud because I was in the front row standing like half a meter of the band in front of 6 headphones that was supposed to play the bass part of the music and I was not feeling bad at all. The gig lasted for 1h and 50 minutes with 2 pauses, the first one after 10 [or was it 11?] tracks and the second after 3 o [or 2] more. So it was a total of 14 tracks for day one with a 20 minutes long ending with group four [and of course it was like the 5th guitar solo of the gig] The band was cool; at one point they hugged each other [3D and Daddy G] and the voice of Dot Allison while it was not perfect it was pleasant to hear.
Also the guitarist was very happy because he was trying to perform solo from the beginning of the gig [he was already in front of the stage by track 4 and was playing a guitar solo right in front of the mics if you know the stage positions you can understand what I mean]. Anyway the other 2 singers was brilliant and enjoying the gig as far I could tell , also Horace was in very good mood ,and he was showing it to us. There were no special cases performed in day one. Some of the tracks were but I might be wrong with the order because I was saving the track list in my mobile and it was not easy to do in the frond row head banging and all, and also I had a battery failure at a time so it was kind of lost.
Review by koulos from the Official Massive Attack Forum dated 17th July 2003
There was a slight deviation from the typical setlist for this part of the tour. Massive Attack would not play Special Cases at this show, however they would play it the following night at the same venue.
Dot Allison would provide support for this show in the form of an accoutic guitar performance.
